The public is invited to the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa in North Phoenix to be amazed at a dazzling masterpiece of gingerbread, gumdrops, chocolate and sugary icing.
In 2012 the 40-foot x 20-foot "Wonderland of Oz” Gingerbread Village in the Grand Lobby features 20 handmade gingerbread houses and scenes from the epic film including Dorothy’s encounters with the Scarecrow, the Tin Man and the Cowardly Lion along the Yellow Brick Road. The display is replete with vignettes from the Land of Oz such as Munchkinland, the Haunted Forest, Castle of the Wicked Witch of the West with her notorious army of flying monkeys, as well as the beautiful poppy fields that led Dorothy and her companions to the gates of the Emerald City to meet the Wizard of Oz.

The team of pastry experts at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa earned a bronze medal at the 2010 World Pastry Team Championship and achieved the title of National Pastry Team champions in 2009.
